Founded in 1972, the Woodbridge Branch of the American Association of University Women is a remarkable group with diverse interests and backgrounds united by a common goal of education and equity for women and girls. The programs feature informative speakers and activities that support and forward AAUW objectives.
We are a sponsor and provide administrative support and workshop presenters to the Girls+Math+Science=Success Conference.” This conference, started in 1991, now hosts over 200 girls and has implemented a separate track for parents.
Since 1994, branch members have judged middle school girl’s science projects at the Prince William County Regional Science Fair. We award several prizes and invite the girls and their parents to present their project at the branch spring luncheon.
We have a book group and a “gourmet out” group. We also enjoy a fall potluck brunch, winter luncheon and spring salad luncheon.
